Educational Institution Visit to UPM for Knowledge and Technology Sharing
Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has received visits from various higher education institutions and agencies for knowledge-sharing sessions and discussions on solar energy projects and development management. This visit aims to provide exposure to universities and other agencies regarding the initiatives undertaken by UPM in the field of sustainable energy and energy efficiency.
The visits involved the following institutions:
Universiti Malaysia Sabah: A benchmarking visit related to UPM’s solar projects and a knowledge-sharing session on UPM’s solar initiatives.
Universiti Malaya: A visit from the Department of Development & Asset Maintenance (JPPHB), UM, to learn from UPM’s experience in implementing solar projects.
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia: A technical visit from the Development Division, UTM, for a knowledge-sharing session on solar projects and procurement management at PPPA, UPM.
Universiti Teknologi Mara (Perak Branch): A technical visit to learn about development management methods from UPM.
Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris: A working visit from the Development and Asset Management Department, UPSI. The session included information sharing on the Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) project, including the implementation of chiller replacement through the Zero Capex model, measurement methods, and cost savings achieved.
Polytechnics, Ministry of Higher Education: A visit from the Governance and Excellence Division (BGK), Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK), for a knowledge-sharing session on UPM’s solar projects.
Ministry of Higher Education: A visit by officers and staff of the Ministry of Higher Education to UPM regarding solar installation projects at UPM.
Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UPM: A teaching session for students on solar energy projects at UPM.
This visit highlights UPM’s role as a leading higher education institution in implementing sustainable energy projects. Through this knowledge-sharing initiative, it is hoped that more institutions and agencies will be able to adopt green technology in their operations, thereby supporting the nation’s efforts toward sustainable development.
